Summer Fun!!

The grandkids had a fun time breaking the pinata when we got together for family night. Alyssa and Ethan were so sweet to help Madison with her turn hitting the pinata. Carys was so excited to spend time with her cousins. She adores Ethan and the boys across the street. The two cute boys in the background are our neighbors who I've been tutoring this summer. They are such nice boys!! I'm so sad that we only have a one more week of summer vacation. It's been such a wonderful summer!!

Virginia Historical Sites

We visited several fun historical sites in Virginia to celebrate our tenth anniversary. Since Jamestown was celebrating its 400th year anniversary we thought it would be fun to go there. It was quite an adventure strolling the streets of Colonial Williamsburg. I love all the old buildings! Yorktown gave us insights into life in the early years of our nation. A highlight for me was visiting several plantations along the James River.

The Wright Brothers Monument

The 60-foot monument honors the Wright brothers and marks the site of the hundreds of glider flights that preceded the first powered flight. It is huge!

Kill Devil Hills: We Take to the Air

We had fun visiting the windy Outerbanks of North Carolina. We hiked up a big hill to see the Wright Brothers National Memorial. It was amazing!!

Fun with Emily

We had a wonderful visit with Emily in North Carolina. She is an amazing daughter-in-law. We are so glad she is a part of our family!

Mike and Emily's Garden in North Carolina

It is so beautiful and green in Winston-Salem. We ate lots of good vegetables from the garden.
