Visiting friends in San Antonio

We were very happy to be able to take a trip to San Antonio during October Break. We had a great time visiting with Craig and Dorothy Funk good friends of mine from Prescott Valley. We went to the Alamo, rode a boat on the river walk and had dinner there. We also visited the shops in Fredricksburg and went to the San Antonio Temple. It was absolutely gorgeous. Dorothy is a reading teacher and she took me to her school and gave me lots of fabulous materials and ideas. It was so fun to visit and stay with them for a couple of days.

Karate Class

Ethan and Alyssa have been taking karate lessons for the past six weeks. They were very excited to show us what they've learned. As you can see they have some pretty tough moves.

Happy Halloween from Disneyland!

Recently we had a fun vacation to Disneyland and everyone had a blast! Stacey convinced me that it wouldn't be too busy because it was going to rain. It spinkled a little on Saturday and so it was a quiet day at both parks! I couldn't believe that it wasn't busy on Saturday. I told the kids I was going to take a break from Disneyland but I couldn't stay away when the kids decided to go! We missed having Mike and Emily with us but I'm sure we'll go back again to make more Disneyland memories!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a busy and fun Labor Day Weekend. We were able to spend some good times with kids and grandkids. The grandkids are so happy to be outside and even when it is warm they still beg to go out. Ethan loves to play kickball while Alissa and Carys are always asking to play school. Carys went with me to my Open house at Porter Elementary School. She always likes to go to school with me and loves to go to preschool too! I feel so blessed to be a reading coach. I'm learning so much and enjoy going into classrooms and helping teach kids to read!! Reading is the key to learning and opens the door to a child's future!!.

Crown Molding at Last!!

Stacey took a trip recently so LeGrand came over with the kids and helped Tom with crown molding. We've had the crown molding wood for at least a year! LeGrand put up crown molding in our dining room and living room. It's a challenging job but LeGrand is an expert at measuring and cutting angles. I'm so happy to have it done!! Tom is a great grandpa and Madison loves to put her head on his shoulder. Carys loves to be outside and water the plants and play in the water. Madison's favorite place is to be outside or in the bathtub. It's always fun to have the grandkids over and sad to see them go home.

Fun at Grandpa's House

Tomorrow is my first day back to school! It's been a fun summer but they seem to get shorter each year. Carys wanted to spent the night last night so we had a blast helping grandpa clean up the yard and plant some flowers. The grand kids love to read books, work on the computer, play with beads and go swimming! It's great when they pop over for a visit!! We treasure the time we're able to spend with each of our grand kids!!
